For those who are passionate about coffee, Moka coffee is certainly a familiar name, evoking nobility and luxury. So why is Moka coffee so favored? What's special about its taste? Let's find out with Lyon.
Moka coffee is a variety of the Arabica variety. Moka coffee is in the same family as famous coffees such as: Typica, Bourbon, Icatu or Mundo, Novo. Moka coffee was first found in a port city called Mocha in Yemen. Therefore, this coffee variety is also called Mocha coffee. This type of coffee was first brought outside of Yemen in the last years of the 13th century. When missionary Marco Polo came here and brought Moka coffee beans to sell in Europe.
However, it was not until the 17th century that Moka coffee beans really became a wave and became famous throughout Europe. When people mix it with Chocolate, it creates a Coffee - Chocolate flavor.
In the last years of the 19th century, around 1875, the French brought Moka seeds to plant in many northern provinces, Vietnam. Later, when they realized favorable climatic conditions, they opened large coffee plantations in the Central Highlands and especially in Cau Dat and Da Lat province.
There must be something special in the taste for people to call Moka the queen of the coffee kingdom. Those with delicate taste buds will feel the difference the first time they enjoy it.
Cups of 100% pure Moka coffee will bring with them a slightly bitter taste, mixed with a bit of sourness and the fatty taste of the oil inside the coffee beans. When drinking, the bitterness spreads in the mouth and down the throat, but only a few seconds later the passionate scent and sweetness will appear.
The first way is to drink 100% Moka coffee without mixing other types: Moka coffee beans are different and classier than other coffee beans, so they have a very unique flavor and are not at all similar to regular coffee beans. That's why we drink 100% Moka coffee to deeply feel the flavor of this premium coffee. In addition, to ensure a pure glass of Moka coffee, you must buy Moka coffee where it belongs. It is best to buy at reputable coffee roasting agents in Vietnam.
The second way is to mix Cau Dat Moka coffee with other types of coffee: Besides using 100% Moka coffee to fully enjoy the "purity" of Moka coffee. There is another way to create a new coffee flavor, you can also mix Moka coffee with other types such as Robusta coffee and Peaberry coffee in a ratio of 50:50 (50% Moka and 50% Robusta or 50% Moka and 50% Peaberry). This will also help balance the sour taste of Moka coffee and make the coffee more flavorful.
