ACACIA WOOD FINGER JOINT

I - Acacia wood finger joint

Acacia wood finger joint is a type of joint made from acacia wood. It is manufactured using advanced technology and modern equipment. The acacia wood is sawed, planed, milled, and joined with serrated teeth using imported glue. The joined wood is then treated with wood modification technology to increase stability, durability, and minimize deformation before being used in production, considering the climatic conditions in Vietnam.

II - Classification of Acacia wood finger joint and basic specifications

AC quality: Grade A has a nice appearance without knots, heartwood, termites, black seams, etc. Grade C, on the other hand, allows for wood sap, black seams, or threads, and has a relatively lower color quality compared to Grade A and Grade B. Moisture content is 8-14%. This type of board is used for flooring or wall boards (only requiring a nice side).

BC quality: The B surface allows for small knots with an average diameter of less than 1cm, and heartwood and sapwood account for only 30-35%. Grade C, similar to AC quality, allows for wood sap, black seams, or threads, and has a relatively lower color quality compared to Grade A and Grade B. Moisture content is 8-14%.

Regular specifications: 2440 x 1220 x 15/18/20/25 (mm)

III - Application

Acacia wood finger joint has a wide range of applications, including:

  • Construction of wooden floors for homes and offices
  • Decorative floor coverings
  • Making shelves
  • Crafting homemade products
  • Production of auditorium chairs and cinema seats
  • Making picture frames, 3D engravings, or wood prints

IV - Characteristics

Advantages:

  • Resistant to termites and warping due to modern and advanced production technology
  • Diverse range of models with well-treated surfaces, resulting in high color fastness, scratch resistance, and good impact resistance
  • Mainly sourced from planted forests, helping to address the scarcity of natural wood
  • Reliability comparable to solid wood
  • 20-30% cheaper than solid wood

Disadvantages:

However, Acacia wood finger joint still has inherent disadvantages, such as variations in color and texture due to the characteristics of the wood and being assembled from multiple different bars.
