Description:

A magnetic stirrer is a laboratory equipment that uses magnetic force to stir solutions.

For example, a magnetic stirrer can use rotating magnetic force to spin a magnetic bar, which is a magnet wrapped in plastic. When the magnetic stirrer is turned on, we place the stirring bar into the solution to be stirred. As the stirring bar slowly rotates, it creates a force that causes the fluid to flow. The magnetic force that rotates the solution is placed directly below the container containing the solution.

The magnetic stirrer can be used with a heating resistor, known as a magnetic stirrer with heat. Additionally, a thermographic recording sensor can be attached, which is directly connected to the stirrer and displayed on an LCD screen.

Advantages:

Compact, flexible, and easy to clean. The solution is not contaminated as only the stirring bar directly contacts the sample.
Magnetic stirrers are suitable for samples that require long stirring times, do not make noise, do not require lubrication for the shaft axis like roller stirrers, and are suitable for small sample sizes. However, they are not suitable for samples with high viscosity, such as paint.
